Some companies that buy and flip houses aren’t concerned about preserving the house. It’s bulldoze or bust! At Resideum, we do care about taking a well-loved house and bringing it back to its former glory.

While this isn’t always possible, we do try to take each house that we purchase, put the necessary money and repairs into it, and make it beautiful again.

Beautifying Atlanta, One House at a Time

One of the guiding principals for Resideum is that we want to leave houses better than when we found them. Whenever we consider buying a new house, of course we have to consider the financial situation of the house and whether or not we can make a profit for the company. We are a business, with employees who have families and mouths to feed! But we also want to know that we can take a house that may be a bit unloved or perhaps it has suffered storm damage or water damage and needs work, and turn that house into a beautiful home that will enhance the neighborhood and make the next family who lives in it extremely happy.

Solving House Problems

Resideum solves problems for homeowners. We do that in many ways:

  • We purchase houses that may be unsellable because a property is currently not in livable condition.
  • We purchase houses that need a great deal of work due to age.
  • We purchase houses that have been damaged due to fires, water, tornados and other forces.
  • We purchase houses that are obsolete due to old design that no longer meets current standards and buyer demand.
  • We purchase houses that have tenants who are difficult, making life for the current owner miserable.
  • We buy houses quickly, so a homeowner who needs a quick sale can get the house sold in one to three weeks. This often solves major financial problems for the homeowner and can relieve difficulties and stress they are dealing with.

Transforming A House

Once we own the house, we begin the process of transforming it. This can be through simple updates like new paint, or it might require complicated and expensive renovations like new walls, floors, cabinets, countertops, new plumbing, roofing and more. We do what is necessary to create a home that is structurally sound, and beautiful as well.

Watch This Home Transformation

This video is a follow-up to our previous video where we talked about problem rental properties. In this video, we take a look at some of the upgrades this house received. Greg and Brent talk about the floors, kitchen and more.

If you have a home that needs some attention and money to repair it, stop and consider your options. Rather than having to find a remodeler you can trust, getting on their schedule, then waiting for them to start, getting the repairs made over the next 4 to 8 weeks, and only then being able to sell your house–just contact us today to get a free cash offer. We buy houses in the Atlanta and surrounding areas.

Just send us some quick details about your property and we’ll start the process.

Greg Kurzner:

Hey, guys, this is Greg.

Brent Bagley:

This is Brent

Greg:

And we’re with Resideum, and we are at the final spot finishing up this home at 1115 Wiley Street in East Atlanta. Let’s go inside and take a look at how it came out.

Greg:

Now, Brent, remember when we came in here originally we had all that water damage and that mold in that area, right?

Brent:

Yeah.

Greg:

How does it look now?

Brent:

Looks great. I mean, you can’t even tell that it was even there.

Greg:

So what else did we do? I think the floors are different.

Brent:

We refinished the floors.

Greg:

Yeah.

Brent:

Like we talked about last time. We actually changed out a lot more light fixtures than we originally had planned to do. But, you know, it definitely made a difference.

Greg:

Well, one of the things that we really pride ourselves on is breathing new life into homes like this. We are just not about getting in and making a quick buck and getting out. It’s important for us to take homes that have been roughed up, that have been unloved or that have had challenges and bring new life to them, make them beautiful again for another family. And I think we’ve really accomplished it here. What do you think about this countertop? I know when we were looking at marble, and we decided on granite that we’d pick this and man, did it come out well.

Brent:

Yeah, this was, it was hard to find. But like I said, we went through quartz. We found a bunch of different kinds that we liked. But this actually turned out a lot better than I thought it ever would.

Greg:

Sure did. What gives with all the blue tape, Brent?

Brent:

There is still some punch stuff that needs to get done that we’ve walked through today and just some touch up items.

Greg:

Yeah, just trying to fix things.

Brent:

Yeah.

Greg:

Make sure it looks great. You know, and that’s one thing that I will mention, too, is, is that there are a lot of people out here who are professional homebuyers. And one of the things that really separates Resideum from everybody else, I think is, is that we truly care to put a very high quality product back on the market. It’s important for us to make sure that we have done everything we can see and made all the improvements that we think would be necessary so that a new family can move in right away. They’re not having to worry about things, not finding stuff painted over, bandaids over bullet wounds, I always say.

Greg:

So we’re really proud of this. And let’s walk through and take a look. Why don’t you point out what we did upstairs? I want to see that master bath.

Brent:

All right. Yeah, so we talked before. We’re going to you know, we’re changing out the carpet. We’re fixing the walls in the bathroom up here. So from our last video, this bathroom was completely gutted almost.

Greg:

Yeah, I remember we didn’t even have anything in here. Right. It was just frame.

Brent:

It was just frame. So new floors, new, cabinets, new countertops up here as well.

Greg:

Great.

Brent:

And if you look in this bedroom, you remember there was some damage over here. You can’t even see, like I said, we…our contractor did a really good job of getting this fixed for us.

Greg:

Yes.

Greg:

And so carpeting, right?

Brent:

Yep.

Greg:

New tile, new cabinets, countertops, new sinks. And then I think I remember that this bathroom in the master was challenging, right?

Brent:

It was.

Greg:

So what did we do?

Brent:

So what we did if you were…there was a wall here and it partitioned the toilet off from a single vanity. We actually took that out…

Greg:

Yeah, how awkward.

Brent:

…and made it a double. So, I mean, it just wasn’t needed. And then we completely redid the tile on this tub. It was that old square white tile and…

Greg:

1980s, yeah.

Brent:

…back in and updated.

Greg:

Well, I love the herringbone accent, too. That really gives it some life.

Brent:

And this is all marble, if I’m not mistaken.

Greg:

Pretty spiffy. Well, I think this one’s ready to go. Once they get the blue tape up and we do the punch out items we’re going to have it on the market. Do you have an idea where we’re going to price it?

Brent:

We’re looking to price at around $589,900.

Greg:

OK.

Brent:

And then I guess…

Greg:

Seems like a good deal for this.

Brent:

Wanna go show the back deck that was redone?

Greg:

Yeah. Can we, we’ll check out the back deck. Entree or “extree”. I’m not sure what that is in French.

Brent:

So you’ll notice out here the deck was, new boards put in. Some of the stuff was original, was just left was repainted, so matches with the rest of the house. The deck was red. I don’t know why.

Greg:

Yeah

Brent:

But we made it match the rest of the house with the trim, so.

Greg:

And it fits in really nice with the community. I think is a fantastic option, definitely on the lower end out here. And I think we’re going to sell pretty quick, don’t you?

Brent:

I do.

Greg:

All right. Well, this is Greg.

Brent:

This is Brent. We’ll see you next time.

Greg:

And we’ll see you next time.
